The Unfortunate Truth

Have you ever been scrolling through you Instagram feed seeing all these body builders who boast about how they achieved there dream physique in a matter of months? If so then you t have seen the never ending marketing schemes of a vast majority of unnatural bodybuilders. Now that's not to say that everyone on Instagram is taking steroids to build that dream bod, but there is a big group that does.
When it comes to it weight lifting takes time and is a real commitment to build that dream body that we all desire. If anyone tells you that you can put on 10 or more pounds of muscle in a month run. No way can you consistently put on this massive amount of muscle in such a minimal amount of time. Building muscle isn't easy and if it was everyone would have this Greek god body that we all desire.
I hate to say it but all of those Instagram fitness models you look up too often times wont be natural athletes. Most people in the fitness industry have taken drastic measures to build these so called dream body's. When it comes to being a natural athlete the harsh truth is you simply can't expect to build you dream body in a few months. Because of this you have to beware of the fitness programs you choose to follow. The workout of someone on steriods won't be as effective for a natural. When you are just starting out you have to have realistic expectations and a coach/workout plan that is for someone who is natural. Other wise you will burnout fast when you don't see the results you want. If your being realistic you can put on roughly 15-20lbs in the very first year of real train and then it will go down significantly in the following years. Year two you are looking at closer to 10lbs of muscle according to bodybuilding.com.
Unfortunately though this is the truth and there is no way around the fact muscle building is a marathon not a sprint. Don't get discouraged and just enjoy the journey, that's what really matters in the end.
This isn't to bash or cut down anyone but just to make you aware of the simply fact that you can't and shouldn't compare yourself to the people you see on the internet. Make your achievements your own and don't worry about what anyone else has to say. Any amount of muscle gain or fat loss is something you should be proud of. Don't let anyone take this away from you!!
